Description
Spring, the time of new beginnings with new growth all around. Ostara, the dragon representing new beginnings and the spring equinox is depicted on this beautiful mug. The mug changes colour to reveal Sabbat symbols surrounding the dragon’s snake like head like a halo when you fill it with your hot drink. This gorgeous design by Anne Stokes is part of a set portraying the seasons celebrated in pagan festivals.
The Wheel of the Year is marked in the Pagan calendar by eight seasonal festivals: the Spring and Autumn Equinox; the Summer and Winter Solstice with the mid-points between these solar events making the other four,
Ostara represents the Spring Equinox and sits atop the wheel. The Festival of Ostara celebrates the time of new beginnings as nature begins to bloom again. The serpent-like dragon protecting its egg is the symbol of this fresh start.
