The Wheel of the Year is marked in the Pagan calendar by eight seasonal festivals: the Spring and Autumn Equinox; the Summer and Winter Solstice with the mid-points between these solar events making the other four,

The symbol of Yule sits at the top of the wheel and marks the Winter Solstice and the rebirth of the Sun God, the time when dark gives way to the light and the days begin to lengthen. The traditional symbol for the Winter Solstice, Yule, sits above the dragon’s horns which resemble razor sharp icicles.  Unlike other dragons who breath fire, this depiction shows icy breath with shards of ice.  Yuletide, the time of rebirth.
